Introduction

Studio Paco ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Splashlet mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

Information We Collect

Information We Do NOT Collect

Splashlet is designed with privacy in mind. We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers for tracking purposes
  • User behavior analytics
  • Contact information
  • Photos from your device (unless you explicitly grant access to save images)

Information That Stays on Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

Drawing Progress

  • Your coloring strokes and progress on each drawing
  • Saved coloring sessions
  • Custom color selections
  • Undo/redo history

Generated Drawings

  • Custom drawings you create through the wizard
  • Images are stored in your device's Application Support directory
  • Drawing metadata and preferences

App Preferences

  • Language settings
  • Credit balance (for in-app purchases)
  • App settings and configurations

Information Collected by Apple

Apple's App Store automatically collects certain information as part of their service:

Purchase Information

  • In-app purchase transactions (processed by Apple)
  • Purchase history for credit packs
  • Receipt validation data

App Store Analytics (optional, controlled by your iOS settings)

  • App crashes and performance data
  • Device type and iOS version
  • App Store impressions and downloads

You can control App Store analytics in your iOS device settings: Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements > Share iPhone Analytics.

Third-Party Services

Replicate API (DALL-E 3)

When you use the drawing generation wizard, your device communicates with Replicate's API to generate custom coloring pages using DALL-E 3 (OpenAI's image generation model).

What is sent:

  • Text prompts describing the drawing you want to create (e.g., "a simple black and white coloring page of a cat")
  • Your API key (stored securely on your device, never on our servers)

What is NOT sent:

  • Your name or identity
  • Device information
  • Location data
  • Any other personal information

Apple StoreKit

We use Apple's StoreKit framework for in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled by Apple:

  • Apple processes all payment information
  • We never receive or store your payment details
  • Purchase receipts are verified through Apple's servers

How We Use Your Information

Since we don't collect personal information, we don't use your information for:

  • Marketing or advertising
  • Selling to third parties
  • Creating user profiles
  • Cross-app tracking

The only data usage is:

  • On-device storage of your drawings and preferences
  • API communication with Replicate for image generation (only when you use the wizard)
  • StoreKit integration for processing purchases (handled by Apple)

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All your drawings, progress, and settings are stored locally on your device in:

  • Application Support directory (for generated images)
  • Documents directory (for drawing progress)
  • UserDefaults (for app preferences)

This data is:

  • Protected by iOS sandbox security
  • Included in iCloud backup (if you have iCloud Backup enabled)
  • Deleted when you uninstall the app

No Server Storage

We do not operate any servers that store your data. Your information never leaves your device except:

  • When using the drawing wizard (text prompts sent to Replicate)
  • During in-app purchases (processed by Apple)

Security Measures

While we don't store your data on servers, we take security seriously:

  • All API communications use HTTPS encryption
  • No sensitive data is logged or transmitted

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Control

You have full control over your data:

  • View your drawings: All in the app's home screen
  • Delete drawings: Use the delete option on generated drawings
  • Clear all data: Uninstall the app
  • Export drawings: Save to Photos app

iOS Privacy Controls

You control the following permissions:

  • Photo Library Access: Required only if you want to save drawings to Photos (requested only when saving)
  • App Store Analytics: Controlled in iOS Settings > Privacy > Analytics
  • iCloud Backup: Controlled in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup

Opting Out of Image Generation

If you don't want to use the AI drawing generation feature:

  • Use only the default drawings included in the app

Children's Privacy

Splashlet is designed to be kid-friendly, but we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. Since we don't collect personal information, the app can be used by children under parental supervision.

Parents should:

  • Monitor in-app purchases using iOS Screen Time and parental controls
  • Review generated content for appropriateness

We recommend parents enable iOS restrictions:

Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > In-App Purchases > Don't Allow

Data Retention

On Your Device

  • Data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app
  • iCloud backups retain data according to your iCloud settings

With Third Parties

  • Replicate/DALL-E: Generated images may be retained according to their policies (typically 30-90 days)
  • Apple: Purchase records retained according to Apple's policy

International Data Transfers

Since your data stays on your device, there are no international data transfers by us. However:

  • Replicate API servers may be located in different countries
  • Apple processes purchases through international infrastructure

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
  • For significant changes, displaying an in-app notice

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information. However, since Splashlet does not collect, sell, or share personal information, these rights are largely not applicable.

For clarity:

  • We do NOT sell personal information
  • We do NOT share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • We do NOT collect sensitive personal information

European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have certain rights under GDPR. However, since we do not collect or process personal data on our servers, most GDPR provisions do not apply.

For clarity:

  • We are NOT a data controller (we don't control your data)
  • Your data stays on your device (you control it)
  • We do NOT process personal data for profiling or automated decision-making
